Favara
Just 7 km from Agrigento, the town of Favara stands on a hill 300 meters above sea level. Here there are stone houses, paved streets and alleys. Known as the "City of the Easter Lamb", the name of a typical cake made with almonds and pistachios, Favara has the oldest inhabited centre that rises around the city castle, built by Frederick II Chiaramonte in the 13th century. From here it is possible to admire a wonderful panoramic view, that sweeps across the valley below.

Museum of the sicilian almond
Marzipan, in its intent to promote excellence in the Sicilian food and agriculture sectors, has
dedicated an area to the Museum of Almonds in Sicily.
The town of Favara, renowned for its Easter lamb sweets, offers the ideal location from which to learn more about almonds in Sicily.
The visitor will be led through a path of discovery, finding out about the history of the almond, its properties, how it is harvested and processed, through to its culinary uses both sweet and savoury, and will have the opportunity to observe some of the antique tools used in the various processing stages. 
The museums’s aim is to introduce the visitor to the beauty and quality of the Sicilian almond, with over 200 varieties unique to Sicily.

Farm Cultural Park
The Farm Cultural Park, inaugurated in 2010 from an idea of the notary Andrea Bartoli, is a cultural centre and an artistic poly functional point. This is the first tourist park in Sicily, an open-air art gallery, where art, culture and urban regeneration give to the town of Favara the title of the new contemporary art centre of Southern Italy. A lively artistic yard, where there are permanent exhibitions of painting, photography, music and events of any kind. In 2011 the park won the Prize Management Culture of Federculture and the British Blog "Purple Travel" has placed it at the 6th place among the 10 unmissable destinations for those who love contemporary art among all the destinations around the world.

The Garden of the Kolymbethra
Located between the temple of Castor and Pollux and the one of Volcano, within the Valley of the Temples, this garden is a small jewel of nature reborn thanks to the activities carried on by the FAI, Fondo Ambiente Italiano, since 1999. It was reopened to the public in 2001 and it presents itself as a fertile valley, with a considerable variety of trees. There are also the typical species of the Mediterranean maquis and a citrus grove, where bloom lemons, mandarins and oranges belonging to ancient varieties. You will also find almond trees, carobs, mulberries and prickly pears in the driest part of the garden.

Valley of the Temples
Just 15 minutes from Favara, the Archaeological Park of the Valley of the Temples is an impressive testimony of the Hellenistic period, that became a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. A vast area of about 1,300 hectares, where it is possible to admire the well-preserved remains of 10 temples in Doric style, 3 shrines and numerous necropolis and fortifications. A spectacle that will impress all visitors, that will bring us back for a few hours in the atmosphere and in the spirit of the Greek period, in intimate contact with the ancient history and will give us a journey in time.

Scala dei Turchi
One of the most beautiful, suggestive and famous landscapes throughout the region: La Scala dei Turchi is a heavenly place, a hill with natural steps, on top of which you can enjoy an unmatched breath-taking view, destination of tourists and curious people from all over the world. White, imposing and overhanging in the blue waters of the sea, this wonderful attraction will amaze anyone arrives there for the first time, just 20 minutes away from Favara.
